Apply To The Fuel Assistance Program In Cambridge

Due to coronavirus, all application appointments will be done by phone and applications will be submitted through no-contact options.

The Fuel Assistance Program assists low-income households in Cambridge and Somerville with heating costs incurred between November 1st and April 30th. Renters and homeowners in both cities are eligible to apply if they meet federal income guidelines.

Due to COVID-19, all application appointments will be done by phone and applications will be submitted through no-contact options.

New applicants can now apply online. Following online submission, applicants will have an appointment with Fuel Assistance staff to review their application and confirm eligibility.

Cambridge and Somerville residents who have previously received fuel assistance through the program were mailed an application to reapply.

To set up a phone appointment with Fuel Assistance staff, call 617-349-6252. English and Spanish-speaking intake workers are available to assist applicants. If you are in a no-heat situation or facing immediate utility shutoff, fuel assistance can be provided within 24 hours to eligible applicants.
