Apply To The Fuel Assistance Program In Cambridge City

The Fuel Assistance Program assists low-income households in Cambridge and Somerville with heating costs incurred between November 1st and May 28th. Renters and homeowners in both cities are eligible to apply if they meet federal income guidelines.

New applicants can now apply and upload forms on a new online portal. Following online submission, applicants will have a phone appointment with Fuel Assistance staff to review their application and confirm eligibility.

In-person application assistance can be provided upon request.

To set up a phone appointment with Fuel Assistance staff, call 617-349-6252. English and Spanish-speaking intake workers are available to assist applicants. If you are in a no-heat situation or facing immediate utility shutoff, fuel assistance can be provided within 24 hours to eligible applicants.
