Arrest Warrant Issued In Cambridge Hit-And-Run That Seriously Injured Child
Authorities said the person was operating an electric scooter when they allegedly struck the child before fleeing the scene.
CAMBRIDGE, MA — A person wanted in connection with a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a 9-year-old in Cambridge is now the subject of an arrest warrant, the police department announced.
Police said the warrant was issued for the individual allegedly involved in the July 9 crash on Vassar Street. Authorities said they are actively working to locate the individual and warned community members not to approach them if spotted. Instead, anyone who sees the suspect is asked to call 911 immediately.
Police first asked the public to help identify the individual after releasing a photo as part of the investigation. Authorities said the person was operating an electric scooter when they allegedly struck the child before fleeing the scene. He was described as a man with a "man bun" hairstyle last seen wearing a teal T-shirt, black shorts, and having a face tattoo.
