Blue Heron presents: Divine Songs: Secular chansons & sacred transformations

Innovation is most meaningful when people can experience it firsthand. On Thursday, October 22 from 4:00-6:30 p.m., celebrate the energy and ingenuity of Cambridge’s innovation community at Convergence at University Park, an afternoon of live technology demonstrations and conversations about the future of AI, AgeTech, BlueTech and the infrastructure that supports innovation. Hosted by BioMed Realty, the event will feature emerging technologies from companies including Pison and Dimenso, along with a series of short discussions moderated by technology and innovation journalist Scott Kirsner.

We are excited to connect with the founders, researchers, business leaders and community members helping shape what comes next in Cambridge.

Enjoy Traditional Cooking and Party with Us in Cambridge, MA! Here at the Dumpling School we like to consider ourselves not as a traditional cooking class but more of a dumpling PARTY! When you sign up for one of our dumpling parties, we want you to have as much fun as possible while learning a new skill.
How to roll and fold dumplings How to properly stuff dumplings with different fillings. How to make different dumpling shapes. How to cook dumplings.
You don’t have to be a cooking expert to enjoy one of our events. We welcome people of all skill levels and interests to take part in our dumpling parties. Since we are focusing on fun and not precision and accuracy, this is the perfect, relaxed environment for friends, family, and loved ones.
For Children’s Groups 1 adult for every 5 Child is required to stay for the duration of the class and will be ticketed.

You may expect this event to run from 7:00 - 8:15pm ET/ 6:00 - 7:15 pm CT/ 5:00 - 6:15 pm MT/ 4:00 - 5:15 pm PT. Please be aware of time zone differences. About this event ***You'll need the event URL, so be sure to register in advance so we can send it to you. We'll send you an e-mail with the Zoom link a few minutes after you purchase a ticket (and we’ll also send it again the day of the event)-- please check both your “spam” AND “junk” folders if you don't see it!*** ---- These Zoom events are designed based in psychology research to give you all the warm fuzzy feelings of human closeness, without that feeling of Zoom-fatigue afterward. We use question prompts and a structure designed based in psychology research to help you get vulnerable with strangers in a way that actually feels safe, and that brings out the best in people. All our events are trauma-informed and facilitated by folks with therapeutic training. According to our surveys, a lot of our guests report feeling nervous about coming, but 100% of the people who say they were nervous also end up saying they were glad they came. There might be some selection bias going on, but we still think it's promising :) We even had an academic paper come out about our online events showing that they improve mood and reduce loneliness! Join curator Ivan Abarca-Torres for a conversation with photographers Charan Deveraux, Yorgos Efthymiadis, Greer Muldowney, Amber Tourlentes, and Steve Tourlentes, along with Somerville housing specialist William Camilo Shelton. Together, they will discuss the photographers’ approaches to documenting Somerville’s evolving urban landscape. Shelton brings a wide-ranging perspective to the conversation, having worked as a community organizer, sociologist, carpenter, e-commerce executive, and strategy consultant to Fortune 500 companies. He led the Somerville Community Corporation for seven years, co-founded the Mystic View Task Force, and wrote a column for The Somerville Times for 13 years.
