Cambridge Gastropub To Close Amid Kendall Square Construction
After six years, Firebrand Saints is shutting down.

CAMBRIDGE, MA – A Kendall Square gastropub is shutting its doors this year due to construction around MIT. Firebrand Saints will close Oct. 15 after six years at 1 Broadway, the Boston Globe reported Friday.
Owner Gary Strack told the Globe that the Kendall Square Initiative – a collaboration between MIT and Cambridge to transform the Kendall Square area – prompted Firebrand Saints' closure. He added that he was proud of how the restaurant became a "neighborhood space" during its tenure on Broadway.
Firebrand Saints specializes in New Americana fare, including burgers, salads, slow-roasted beef, cod and pulled chicken.
