Cambridge Gets Its First Amazon Pick Up, Drop Off Storefront

CAMBRIDGE MA — Tuesday, Amazon opened its first pickup location in Cambridge.

The storefront, at One Central Square in Cambridge, is a spot where customers can pick up their Amazon packages or drop them off in the event they need to return something. They are staffed with associates and also offer self-help kiosks.

Need something fast? Prime members shopping on Amazon.com can get free one-day shipping to the new Amazon Central Square pickup location. As an added benefit, according to an Amazon spokesperson, when shipping to a pickup location there are no order minimums for Prime members to receive free shipping. If a customer just needs an inexpensive item quickly like a notebook or set of pens, it will be shipped fast and for free.

Hours: seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Orders can stay at a pickup location for up to 15 days making this a great solution for customers ordering something while on vacation.

Customers can also return most Amazon orders for free with no lines, no hassle and no box —just swing by a pickup location and they'll provide a return bag and send it on its way.
