Cambridge Man Arrested After Crashing Into Light Pole and Tree: Police

Police said they found a semi-automatic ghost gun, two magazines, ammunition, fentanyl, and credit cards in the van.

CAMBRIDGE, MA — A 27-year-old man accused of crashing into a light pole and tree and then attempting to flee overnight Wednesday is facing multiple charges after police found a ghost gun and fentanyl in his van, Cambridge police said in a news release Wednesday.

After the 3:30 a.m. crash on Rindge Avenue and thanks to a tip from a witness who watched the suspect flee, Cambridge police found Alejandro Trigo from Brookline in the 2100 block of Massachusetts Avenue in his U-Haul, which was significantly damaged from the crash.

Police said they found a semi-automatic ghost gun, two magazines, ammunition, fentanyl, and credit cards in the van. Trigo was not able to prove a license to carry a firearm and was placed under arrest, authorities said.

He is facing the following charges:

  • Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License
  • Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition without an FID Card
  • Possession of a Class A Drug
  • Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle
  • Leaving the Scene of Property Damage
  • Providing a False Name After Arrest
  • Marked Lanes Violation

Trigo was scheduled to be arraigned in Cambridge District Court Wednesday morning.
