Cambridge Superintendent Kenneth Salim called Samuel Bixler a "promising young educator."

CAMBRIDGE, MA – A pedestrian who died from his injuries in a Jan. 13 crash in Central Square was a schoolteacher in Cambridge, according to Superintendent Kenneth Salim. In a letter to the Cambridge Public Schools community Friday, Salim said 29-year-old Samuel Bixler was a "promising young educator."
Salim referenced the school shooting in Parkland, FL and said both events "may feel like a double blow."
"It is hard to comprehend such senseless loss of life," he wrote.
