CAMBRIDGE, MA — A Cambridge woman, apparently upset when an MBTA bus driver wouldn't let her off the bus in the middle of the street, was arrested for allegedly punching the the bus driver in the face Sunday.

The bus driver told police that while the bus was near the Park Street Station around 2:30 p.m. Sunday, the woman demanded to be let off the bus. The driver told the woman he would let her off at a safer spot shortly. But the woman started to yell at the driver, according to the police, and then she kicked the bus's doors and punched the driver.

The driver turned on his emergency lights to get help and Transit Police officers from the Central District responded to the bus, which was stopped at the corner of Tremont and Bromfield streets.
