Cambridge's `Non-Profit' Draper Laboratory Paid CEO $712,000 In 2016

Are executives at Cambridge "non-profit" firm making big money from developing weapons technology for Trump administration's war machine?

Over $239 million of the big money that Draper Laboratory made between June 2015 and July 2016 from its weapons technology development work for the U.S. war machine was used to pay the annual salaries of its 1,949 employees in 2016. And the total annual compensation paid by the tax-exempt and “non-profit” Draper Laboratory to its top executives was a lot higher than the annual salaries paid to most adjunct professors in the Greater Boston area. For example, between June 27, 2015 and July 1, 2016:

Draper Laboratory President and CEO Kaigham “Ken” Gabriel, a former Deputy and Acting Director of the Pentagon’s DARPA section and Google’s former Advanced Technology and Projects Group Deputy Director, was paid a total annual compensation of $712,008;

Draper Laboratory Vice-President for Strategic Systems Steven DiTullio was paid a total annual compensation of $555,278;
