Central Square Branch In City Of Cambridge To Close For Improvements During November 26 – December 20

Cambridge, MA, November 17, 2020 --- The Central Square Branch Library will close for improvements from Thursday, November 26 through Sunday, December 20. New furniture will be installed in the Ground Floor, Children’s Room, Literacy Center and Lewis Room.

The following services will be suspended during the project but will resume on Monday, December 21.
- Contactless Holds Pickup: The last day to pick up holds before the project begins will be Wednesday, November 25, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. All holds at the branch will be inaccessible during the project but will be available for pickup when services resume. Additionally, holds in transit to the branch will be made available to patrons once services resume. Closed days will not count against patrons’ time to pick up their items.
- Library Returns: No returns will be accepted at the branch during the project. Patrons may keep borrowed items until the branch resumes service. No overdue fines will be assessed. Other Cambridge Public Library locations will continue to accept returns during their advertised pickup and return hours.
- Phone Service: There will be no phone service at the branch during renovations. Patrons in need of assistance should call the Main Library at 617-349-4040.
Due to the public health emergency, the Central Square Branch building will remain closed to the public when services resume.
