Cambridge Police responded in the area of Franklin Street for a male attempting to break into cars. A suspect was identified and found in possession of change and other various items.

FIRST ST

A resident of Cambridge was summonsed for leaving the scene of property damage after a motor vehicle crash. A witness stated they saw a white Nissan crash into a white van that was parked near Linskey Way and First Street and then drive away after the crash. The witness stated this vehicle had front end damage and fled on Memorial Drive towards Harvard Square. This vehicle was stopped on Memorial Drive at the BU Bridge and the operator was identified as the owner. The parked van that was struck was located on Linskey Way and had sustained severe damage to its rear bumper. The force of this crash pushed this van forward into the rear bumper of the vehicle that was parked in front of it. That vehicle sustained damage to its rear bumper and tailgate as well.

James Dominique, 29, 66 Clifford Street in Boston, was arrested pursuant to two warrants issued out of Quincy District Court for Larceny from a Building, Motor Vehicle Equipment Violations, Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, and Furnishing False Identification information to law enforcement. Dominique was stopped after a store manager called to have him removed from the store.

RIVER ST

Cambridge Police officers were on routine patrol in the area of River Street and Putnam Avenue in search of a stolen motor vehicle pursuant to a previous call from earlier in the shift. It was noticed that there was a motor vehicle matching the description (same make, model and plate number), which officers had firsthand knowledge that the vehicle in question was currently stolen, located underneath the parking structure at a River Street grocery store. Officers initiated a traffic stop and located Elijah McKinney, 19, 30 Hingham Street in Cambridge, hiding inside the motor vehicle with the engine on. As a result, McKinney of Cambridge was arrested and taken into custody without incident. McKinney is being charged with Larceny of a Motor Vehicle, Operation of a Motor Vehicle after License Suspension, Failure to Stop for Police, Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle and multiple motor vehicle offenses.

Cambridge Police responded to the Central Square area for a report of a suspicious male wearing gray pants and carrying a large tan backpack checking car doors. A male matching the description was stopped in the immediate area. Raymond Batista, 53, 1732 Main Street in Concord, was placed under arrest after it was determined that there was a warrant out of Boston District Court for Open and Gross Lewdness.
