Found Wallet Near Union Square: Owner Found

A little crowdsourcing helped find the owner of a wallet that was found yesterday near Union Square.

CAMBRIDGE, MA — An apparent Good Samaritan found a wallet near the corner of Webster Ave and Prospect Street at Union Square right at the Cambridge and Somerville border.

He then took to social media to spread the word he'd found a man's wallet. Before he popped it into the mailbox to send it to the address listed on the man's ID, he asked for the public's help in finding the owner of said wallet.

We sent the word out asking if folks recognized guy and thanks to an outpouring of friends and people in the neighborhood who did. We're in touch with him and in the process of connecting him to McLoughlin!

We'll keep you posted once the exchange has been made, but the power of crowd sourcing for the win in the mean time.

Previously: The name on his Massachusetts ID is Jonathan Splaine. If so, contact Keith Mc Loughlin via Twitter (if you're not on Twitter, reach out to me at Jenna.Fisher@Patch.com and I'll connect you).
