"Greater Boston" Fictional Podcast to Go Live

Community full-cast audio drama podcast project, "Greater Boston", is set for season one to hit airwaves.

Greater Boston, GreaterBostonShow.com, is a full-cast audio drama podcast set in the Boston metro area, blending factual history with a fantastical alternate reality, quirky humor with stirring pathos. Our Boston shares existing qualities with the beloved northeastern city, including its strong sense of community and the feeling that anything is possible. The first episode will be available to listeners on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 via most podcast subscriptions.

The Greater Boston project is co-created and produced by Cambridge residents and writers, Alexander Danner and Jeff Van Dreason. Greater Boston is written in part at The Writers’ Room of Boston, a non-profit organization providing secure, affordable workspace to Boston-area writers. It also includes contributions from local actors, musicians, artists, students and teachers.

Episode one, titled "Family Riddles," will premiere on March 15, 2016 on the iTunes, Pocket Casts, SoundCloud, Stitcher podcast subscriptions services. New episodes will be available every two weeks with a total of twelve episodes in the season.

Podcast co-creater Jeff Van Dreason says, "Greater Boston is a strange hybrid that combined both of our styles and themes and became something, well, greater than the writing we both individually do. It’s been a fascinating experience, and one that’s often been surprisingly easy and almost always rewarding. It’s incredible to have so many people contribute their talents for one overall story and one unified goal. It seems even more appropriate given that one of the themes of the show is about community.”
