One Shot In Cambridge, 1 In Custody: Police

A gun was also confiscated, say police.

CAMBRIDGE, MA — One man was shot and has what police are describing as non-life threatening injuries after gunshots rang out in the area of Chestnut and Sidney streets just after 2:30 p.m. Thursday.

A car reportedly sped off from the area following the reported shooting, and according to accounts on Twitter there was a short police chase right after that.

Police said they found a gun. Police placed Ladjuan Guichard,20, of Roslindale (formerly of Cambridge), who was in the car, in custody near Land Blvd and Binney Street. The other young man was taken to the hospital to be treated for a non-life threatening gun shot wound. Guichard's charges include discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building and carrying a gun without a license, said police.

The second man has not been charged.

Officers are still looking for information on a second car and the individual or individuals inside of it.
