Harvard-Educated Man Killed in NYC Crane Collapse
A crane collapsed in New York City Friday morning, killing one and injuring three others.

MANHATTAN, NY - The man killed in a crane collapse in New York City Friday was identified as 38-year-old David Wichs, a Harvard-educated immigrant who lived in Manhattan.
His sister-in-law Lisa Guttman told the Associated Press, Wichs was “the most brilliant person ever.” Born in Prague, Wichs immigrated to the U.S. and graduated from Harvard with a degree in mathematics. While at Harvard, Wichs served as co-chair of Harvard Hillel.

Wichs was sitting in his car when a crane collapsed along Worth Street in lower Manhattan. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Wichs worked at a financial trading firm in New York City, Guttman told the AP.
