"The Nature Plays" to Premiere at Mount Auburn Cemetery

Cambridge actor Ed Hoopman featured in new works this spring at Mount Auburn Cemetery from June 1-9, 2019

Announcing the world premiere of "The Nature Plays", a series of five outdoor plays created by Mount Auburn Cemetery's first Playwright Artist-in-Residence, Patrick Gabridge. The Nature Plays will run June 1-9, 2019 at Mount Auburn Cemetery (580 Mount Auburn Street, Cambridge, MA, 02138) highlighting the rich natural environment of America's first garden Cemetery and 175-acre arboretum in the heart of Cambridge, MA. Local actor Ed Hoopman will be featured, portraying various roles from 19th century naturalist Louis Agassiz to a modern day bird-watcher on the hunt for the elusive Cerulean Blue warbler.

"The Nature Plays" will run for 8 performances over two weekends; two shows on Saturdays and Sundays at 1:00 and 5:00 pm. The entire performance will run for approximately 75 minutes and will include walking within the Cemetery on paved and unpaved surfaces; total walking distance approx. 1 mile; rain or shine. Each performance will be followed by a moderated discussion.

Ed Hoopman (AEA) has recently been seen in Romeo and Juliet at Huntington Theatre Company, Macbeth and Equivocation for Actor’s Shakespeare Project, and Dancing at Lughnasa with Gloucester Stage.
