The South End's Aerial Yoga, Mediation, and Rowing Studio is Holding a Hip Hop Yoga Event with DJ Leah V and a special Aerial Yoga Classs
Saturday marks the 46th annual Boston Pride Parade. The event has come a long way from 1971, when 300 brave people marched through the city to read a political declaration at the steps of the State House and the Boston Police Station. With such history in mind, Swet Studio™, Boston's aerial, fitness, and meditation studio, located in at 480 Tremont Street, in the South End, is excited to be participating in this year’s Boston Pride Parade, and has three #wickedFabulous events planned.
On Thursday, June 9th, at 6:30 P.M, Swet Studio™ will host Hip Hop “Booty Shaking” Yoga, with Boston’s “Best DJ” herself, DJ LeahV. She has won the Improper Bostonian Awards, won the Boston Nightlife Awards, not to mention countless others, and she will be at Swet Studio, kicking out booming bass to get peoples' "booty shaking" in sync with Kaitlin’s vinyassa yoga instruction.
On Saturday, June 11th, 9:45-11:00 AM, Swet Studio™ will be offering special Free “Outer Space” Antigravity® classes, where participants will be tethered in the air in a floating silk hammock and learning the inversions of AntiGravity® aerial yoga. The best intergalactic attire wins a prize, and the net proceeds will be donated to Mass Equality.

Founded by the world renowned gymnast and aerial choreographer, Christopher Harrison, AntiGravity® has already swept the West Coast, New York, and Europe, and is featured in exclusive venues such as Madonna’s Hard Candy Fitness and Richard Branson’s Virgin Active. . After hanging silk first emerged as a performance art, Harrison redesigned it to create the “silk hammock,” which facilitates a unique workout with inventive body movement.
The Pride Parade on Saturday starts at noon, and Swet Studio’s Flying Aerial Alien will be floating by, courtesy of Jackie Soriano, and the crew of the Three Strange Women float.
According to its mission statement, "Boston Pride creates change and progress in society by embracing our community’s diverse history, culture, and identities, promoting community engagement and inclusivity, and striving for visibility and respect in unity.
