A workshop hosted at Club Passim. Alejandro to come to Cambridge
September 16th, there will be an Introduction to Chamamé workshop starting at 11:00am hosted at Club Passim.

Alejandro Brittes Quartet, based in Porto Alegre-RS, Brazil, is composed of: Alejandro Brittes (accordion), André Ely (7-stringed guitar), Charlise Bandeira (flute), and Carlos de Césaro (contrabass). In this workshop the Quartet will give a basis to chamamé ###/emChamamé – just like tango – has been declared as Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. Alejandro and Charlise will work on the melodic aspects of these genres and André and Carlos will explain the basics of the rhythms. For 2023 U.S. touring, Alejandro Brittes Quartet is supported by Iber Exchange, a program of Mid-Atlantic Arts with support from the National Endowment for the Arts in collaboration with Ibermúsicas.
This workshop will be 90 minutes and held on September 16th from 11:30am-1:00pm
Please note: The workshop will be held at The Passim School of Music which is located at 26 Church St. Cambridge, MA. Classrooms are located on the third floor and, unfortunately, we do not have an elevator.
Limited to 12 students (16 years of age or older); Pre-sales are highly encouraged! Online sale ends 2 hours before the workshop begins. Tickets can be purchased at the door before the workshop begins. 5 students are required for this workshop to meet.
