54-Mile UMass Dartmouth Torch Relay from Dartmouth to Boston this Sunday will Support Victims of Marathon Tragedy
Students, Alumni, Faculty and Residents to Participate in Relay that will make Stops in Dartmouth, Taunton, Canton and Boston to Benefit the One Fund
WHAT: University of Massachusetts Dartmouth students, faculty, staff and alumni and local residents will participate in a 54-mile Torch Relay to benefit the One Fund and show support for all those impacted by the Boston Marathon tragedy.

“Our campus was profoundly affected by the Marathon tragedy, and we’re excited to launch this 54-mile relay to benefit the One Fund,” said Joseph Mello, a crime and justice major who graduated from UMass Dartmouth this spring. “It’s going to be a great event that highlights the spirit and character of our community, and we hope residents throughout the region will come out and show their support.”

The relay will begin in Dartmouth and pass through Freetown, Berkley, Taunton, Raynham, Easton, Stoughton, Canton and Milton before ending in Boston. In Boston, participants have the opportunity to meet up with One Run For Boston, a group running the 3,300 miles from Los Angeles to Massachusetts to benefit the One Fund.
