ADL New England Provides Training for Canton Police
Bank of Canton sponsored anti-extremism seminar.

Local law enforcement officials recently received training for potential encounters with extremists and the safety issues involved. The training was provided by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) New England Region and sponsored and hosted by the Bank of Canton.
“To properly combat extremism, law enforcement officials at every level must have the most effective tools and strategies available,” said Derrek Shulman, ADL New England Regional Director. “I want to thank the Bank of Canton, the Canton Police Department and Chief Kenneth Berkowitz for making it possible for us to bring this essential program to officers who can use it to better serve their communities and ensure safety for all citizens.”
During the training held at Bank of Canton headquarters, presentations were given by Oren Segal, Director for ADL’s National Center on Extremism, as well as its Northeast Investigative Researcher. The topics covered included domestic extremism and the rise of homegrown Islamic terrorism since 9/11.
