Large Lottery Prize Sold In Canton

CANTON, MA — A large lottery prize was sold at a store in Canton last week.

A $500,000 lottery ticket was purchased at Brothers Beer and Wine at 1036 Turnpike St. in Canton on Wednesday. The winning ticket came from the Massachusetts State Lottery's "$500,000 Frenzy" scratch-off game.

To win, a player must match any of their numbers to any of the winning numbers. The odds of winning the largest $500,000 prize are more than 160,000 to one.

Nearly 40 prizes worth $500,000 remain unclaimed in the scratch-off game.

The Massachusetts State Lottery did not disclose the identity of the winner. Retailers that sell winning tickets typically receive a bonus from the Lottery.

Ten other lottery prizes were sold in Canton over the last week. Among them, one lucky Bay Stater will get an $1,800 prize, and nine will get $1,000.
