Canton Fire Department Celebrates Promotion Of 8 Officers

Eight Canton firefighters were formally recognized for advancing into leadership roles during a recent ceremony.

CANTON, MA — Eight Canton firefighters were formally recognized for advancing into leadership roles during a recent ceremony.

Fire Chief Jamie Meier hosted the pinning ceremony at a Select Board meeting last Tuesday, honoring two new deputy chiefs, three captains and three lieutenants. The officers were promoted at various points over the past two years.

"I feel that it is always important to formally recognize the outstanding leadership shown by each of these dedicated Canton firefighters," Chief Meier said. "Each of these officers has worked very hard and shown tremendous dedication to the Department and the community."

The promoted officers are:

Deputy Chief Andy Morgan, promoted May 18, 2025, has served with the department for 33 years.
Deputy Chief Frank Walsh, promoted July 19, 2026, has 12 years of service.
Capt. Anthony Flematti, promoted May 26, 2025, has 10 years of service.
Capt. Sean Fallon, promoted May 11, 2026, has 15 years of service.
Capt. Ryan Patrician, promoted July 19, 2026, has 14 years of service.
Lt. Justin Tilley, promoted July 19, 2026, has eight years of service.
Lt. Daniel Pendergast, promoted July 19, 2026, has seven years of service.
Lt. Michael Hache, promoted July 19, 2026, has 13 years of service.

"I could not do this job without them, and I'm grateful each of these officers has dedicated their careers to protecting life and property in the community of Canton," Meier said.
