
Aidan Lee of Canton, a senior at Boston College High School, won a Gold Key in the 63rd Boston Globe Scholastic Art & Writing Awards competition. There are three types of awards: Gold Key, Silver Key and Honorable Mention. Aidan won a Gold Key in Drawing and an Honorable Mention in Drawing.
Lee's prize drawing, submitted by his art teacher, Eleanor Chmiel, was the only Gold Key among the twenty four BC High students who won awards this year. The talented students received 1 Gold Key, 9 Silver Keys and 14 Honorable Mentions.
This year's exhibit of Gold Key and Silver Key Award Winning Art and Writing have been hanging at the State Transportation Building 10 Park Plaza, Boston from Monday Feb 11 through Friday, April 19, 2013. The exhibit is open Weekdays - 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. including holidays and Saturdays and Sundays - noon – 4 p.m. The Gold and Silver Key Winners have already been honored in a ceremony at John Hancock Hall on Sunday, March 4.
