TUESDAY, MARCH 19 – Sturdy Memorial Hospital Amateur Radio Club (SMHARC) invites all “hams” and those interested in learning more about amateur radio to attend its monthly business meeting the third Tuesday every month, except during July, at 8 pm, Sturdy Memorial Hospital Rice/Webb Auditorium, 211 Park Street, Attleboro. The club was formed in 1978 in the aftermath of the Blizzard of '78 during which a large group of area ham radio operators provided communications support to local officials and to the Hospital. Now in its 35th year, SMHARC members operate their own fully equipped W1SMH club station, and they provide public service and emergency communications support for Attleboro area communities. For more information, please call SMHARC President, Gary Powers , KB1KA, 401-793-6322.
