Annual Scholarship, Awards and Recognition Ceremony at Blue Hills Regional Technical School in Canton Honors 80 Outstanding Students

Hundreds of ecstatic family members, donors, presenters, and school staff filled the cafeteria on Wednesday, May 22 at Blue Hills Regional Technical School in Canton for the annual Scholarship, Awards and Recognition Ceremony orchestrated by the Guidance Department including Lead Guidance Counselor Sarah Titus, Guidance Counselors Sarah England and John-Henry Davis, and Secretary Marie Russo.
Dozens of scholarships and awards were presented in memory of those who have passed on, in recognition of academic and athletic excellence, and to spotlight exceptional talent in various technical areas.

Among those in attendance were Supt. James Quaglia, Assistant Supt. / Principal Michael Barrett, and District School Committee Chairman Joseph Pascarella of Dedham, each of whom addressed the audience, and School Committee members Marybeth Nearen (Randolph), Charles Flahive (Westwood), and Aidan Maguire (Canton).
Over $15,000 in memorial scholarships was distributed, and close to $90,000 in civic, state, and industry awards. Eighty students in the Class of 2013 were honored with certificates and/or scholarships.
