Bank of Canton Sponsors Canton Little League

Bank of Canton has donated $500 to sponsor Canton Little League and also made an additional $250 donation from its “Change that Makes Sense” program.

“Canton Little League and Girls Fastpitch Softball would like to extend a sincere thank-you to Bank of Canton for sponsoring teams in the upcoming spring season,” said Brett Burbank, Fundraising and Sponsorship Director of Canton Little League.   “Through the sponsorship of teams and the Change that Makes Sense program, Little League is able to keep costs down so that all kids can enjoy playing baseball and softball.  We are very pleased and proud of our partnership with the bank and look forward to continuing this partnership for many years to come”.

The monies raised through sponsorships help pay for uniforms, umpires, equipment, and skill development programs, according to Burbank.  The combination of those sponsorships and the fees charged for each participant allow the league to function on solid financial ground, while allowing for special projects like field improvements.

Last fall, Bank of Canton donated the funds to enable Canton Little League to purchase a new electronic scoreboard at Duggan Field on Pecunit Street.

“It is our pleasure to support Canton Little League and other local organizations that impact the lives of our children,” said Stephen P. Costello, President and CEO of Bank of Canton.  “We are always looking for ways for Bank of Canton to support the communities that we serve, and the ‘Change that Makes Sense’ program is just one more way of accomplishing that.  We hope that many more people will utilize the coin counter to help us continue giving back to the community.”

Founded in 1835, Bank of Canton supports a wide range of nonprofit organizations throughout the Canton area.
