“It is quite an honor to be recognized for this year’s 2012-2013 Mayflower Athletic Conference Sportsmanship Award,” said Assistant Superintendent / Principal Michael J. Barrett. “This award is certainly well-deserved. At Blue Hills Regional, we have 13 varsity sports and 15 JV and/or freshman teams. The dedicated players and coaches have served the Blue Hills community well. Yes, their hard work and determination shows on the scoreboard, but it is the positive way our coaches and student-athletes relate to their opponents and simply “play the game” that makes the difference. Blue Hills is committed to the development of the “complete” student athlete. This award exemplifies the way our athletes are expected to be: committed, responsible and respectful. Blue Hills would like to thank the MAC for this award, which is quite a tribute to our players and coaches.”
“The standard of hard work and dedication which the coaches hold our student athletes to was very noticeable throughout the year,” said Blue Hills Athletic Director Ed Catabia. “As we know, all of our student athletes play the games and this type of recognition by 15 other schools is just great. All of our student athletes did a superb job in 2012/2013.”
