Combined Jewish Philanthropies Announces New Round of Grants Available for South Area Jewish Organizations
Grants will be awarded to institutions that encourage engagement and collaboration in Jewish community
Combined Jewish Philanthropies (CJP), Boston’s Jewish Federation, announced today it will dispense $30,000 worth of grants to Jewish organizations in the South Area. The grants will be awarded to organizations that are using transformational and innovative methods to encourage engagement and collaboration in the South Area Jewish community. The applications are due February 1 and will be evaluated by CJP’s South Area Planning Committee, chaired by Sharon resident Neil Aronson.
Last year a South Area Task Force recommended that CJP provide grants and work directly with South Area organizations to best meet the on-going needs of the Jewish community there. In addition, CJP has named Nancy Kriegel the manager of strategy and planning for the South Area to ensure that staff time will be dedicated to the growth and support of the South Area.

“We are thrilled to be able to offer CJP’s grants to organizations that are working to make the community in the South Area even stronger,” said Aronson. “We look forward to receiving applications for these grants from the numerous organizations offering quality programming and social services to the Jewish community in this area.”
“Engagement and collaboration within our community is so important, and we look forward to continue to support organizations and programs in the South Area that encourage this in the Jewish community,” said Kriegel.
