Joslin Diabetes Center Teams Up With Level Foods To Fuel Life With Diabetes

Diabetes affects more than 26 million people in the US alone, a total expected to double by the year 2025. With both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes growing at historic rates, two organizations have teamed up to further funding and research in an effort to make living with diabetes easier.

Level Foods, an emerging leader in the diabetes nutrition space, and Joslin Diabetes Center, the world's largest diabetes research and clinical care organization, will be working together to raise awareness of the importance of proper nutrition for those living with diabetes.

People with both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes are commonly challenged in the management of their disease when it comes to choosing the right foods to eat. Level Foods now offers an innovative new line of diabetes-friendly snack products to help manage both high and low blood sugars. Their first product, a 15g glucose gel, was designed to correct low blood sugar faster than any other options sold over the counter. Used by ambulance services and diabetes doctors across the US, Level Life Glucose Gel is sold in more than 14,000 stores nationwide including Walmart, CVS, Rite-Aid and Target.

Joslin Diabetes Center was founded in 1898, by famed diabetes specialist Dr. Elliott P. Joslin based upon the belief that the key to managing diabetes lies with patient involvement, education and empowerment. Today, Joslin has more than 40 clinical care affiliates across the US, serving more than 25,000 patients with specialty care services. Joslin also has a team of more than 40 faculty investigators and 300 researchers working to find a cure for diabetes.

"Creating a partnership with Joslin is a tremendous opportunity to support their research and raise awareness of diabetes,” said Ethan Lewis, Founder of Level Foods. “I started Level because I have Type 1 diabetes and was looking for better nutritional solutions to managing the disease. Being able to work with Joslin will increase our efforts to share the importance that proper nutrition plays on blood sugar control.”
