Students from Blue Hills Regional Earn Medals at SkillsUSA State Conference; Engineering Team Wins Gold Medal

Several students from Blue Hills Regional Technical School in Canton earned medals at the recent SkillsUSA State Leadership and Skills Conference in Marlboro, Mass.
Twenty-seven students from Blue Hills competed at this prestigious event.

According to the SkillsUSA Massachusetts web site, this is “the largest educational gathering in the Commonwealth,” with over 2,500 attendees.
SkillsUSA is a national organization for vocational students that helps them cultivate good citizenship, pride in their work, and outstanding professional capabilities that will serve them well throughout their lives. SkillsUSA holds competitions in dozens of technical categories at the local, district, state and national levels.

The Blue Hills Engineering Technology team of seniors Aaron Nesselle (Randolph), Ariana Chappelle (Randolph) and Shawn Dryer (Randolph) earned a Gold medal.
They will compete at the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference at Kansas City, Missouri, from June 24 – 29.
Junior Katherine Krug (Dedham) earned a Bronze medal in Photography and senior Brendan Dacey (Dedham) was elected to the National Voting Delegate team.
The school extends its warmest congratulations to them, their teachers Michael Meyers and Dan Hamill in Engineering, and Joann Murphy and Joanne Wayland in Design & Visual Communications, and the Blue Hills SkillsUSA advisor, Mr. Robert Foley.
