
(Boston, MA – January 7, 2013) High School Quiz Show, WGBH’s award-winning academic show, presents the official 2013 tournament bracket for the 16 qualifying teams with corresponding episode broadcast dates. All episodes premiere Sundays at 6:30pm, repeating Saturdays at 6pm, on WGBH 2:

· Advanced Math & Science vs. Brookline February 24
· Lincoln-Sudbury vs. Somerville March 3
· Chelmsford vs. Wellesley March 10

· Framingham vs. Wachusett March 31
Hosted by Billy Costa, High School Quiz Show is a single-elimination academic tournament featuring qualifying matches, quarterfinals, semifinals, and a state championship match. For the very first time, this season will culminate with a Bay State vs. Granite State showdown, when WGBH’s High School Quiz Show state champion team meets New Hampshire Public Television’s Granite State Challenge winner.
High School Quiz Show is endorsed by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. The Princeton Review judges the televised competition and reviews the questions. All questions are aligned with the Massachusetts high school curriculum standards in subjects including literature, history, science, and math, as well as current events and general knowledge.
