Blue Hills Reg. Senior Madison Harris to play college softball

Madison Harris of Randolph, a senior at Blue Hills Regional Technical School in Canton, has signed a letter of intent to play softball at Plymouth State University in Plymouth, N.H.

“Everything I have worked for has finally paid off,” she said enthusiastically at the signing, which took place at Blue Hills Regional.
“We are so proud and excited for Madison,” said Blue Hills Principal Jill Rossetti. “We wish her the best as she completes her high school graduation milestone and moves on into college life.”

Ms. Harris, who is studying Culinary Arts at Blue Hills, hopes to pursue a degree in Athletic Training in college. She is the daughter of Marie and Matt Harris.
She is an honor roll student with a GPA of 3.56 out of 4.00.
Her accomplishments as a four-year starting varsity softball player at Blue Hills are numerous and impressive. She has played every position except second base, and is on track to break the Blue Hills softball home run record of 24. Ms. Harris has 19 home runs to date, with 15 games remaining this season as of this writing.
Ms. Harris is a three-time Blue Hills Regional MVP and Offensive Player of the Year, a three-time Mayflower Athletic Conference All-Star, and was listed in the Boston Herald’s “Preseason Division 3 Players to Watch” in 2016, 2017 and 2018. She was selected as a member and was named a starter for the 2016 and 2017 Baystate Games Bronze Medal-winning (2016) Southeastern Mass. team, coached by Bruce Weckworth, head coach of Curry College in Milton. Ms. Harris is a starter and captain for the Emass Panthers 18U Gold College Showcase travel softball team based in Woburn. She was a member of the 2014 Rhode Island Class A Junior Olympic 14U State Champions New England Phoenix.
“Madison Harris has dedicated herself to Blue Hills and her accomplishments speak for themselves,” said Blue Hills Athletic Director Ed Catabia. “We want to wish Ms. Harris the best of luck. She is truly a hard-working student athlete.”
