Canton Bank Robbery Suspects Held On Bail
The pair was arrested in Stoughton 15 minutes after police were notified to be on the lookout.

CANTON, MA — A man and woman charged with robbing the Bank of Canton were ordered held Tuesday morning. Joseph Parella, 53, of Norwood and Kimberly Ginewicz, 40 of Chelsea, pleaded not guilty to bank robbery.
During their arraignment in Stoughton District Court, Parella was ordered held on $200,000 bail and Ginewicz was ordered held on $5,000 bail. Additionally, Ginewicz's bail for a separate case in Chelsea District Court was revoked and she was ordered held until Sept. 11.
Just after 4 p.m. Monday, police responded to a report of a robbery at the Bank of Canton on Turnpike Street. Witnesses told police that they saw a man, later identified as Paraella, in blue hospital pants, blue sweater, and a mask enter the bank and demanded money while waving a weapon, according to the police report.

Police say Paraella fled to an adjacent road and left in a truck allegedly driven by Ginewicz. They were located by Stoughton officers on Central Street about 15 minutes after Canton police notified them of the robbery.
In the truck, police allegedly found $6,5000 in a bag and a license plate that matched the plate of the truck at the scene.

A defense attorney for Parella said he is in the process of applying for disability and wanted to be taken to the hospital for an arm injury he claimed to have. He also said he wasn’t sure if a weapon was recovered. Ginewicz’s attorney said the evidence against her was circumstantial and she is not alleged to have gone into the bank and assisted with the robbery.
Both are due back in court July 18.
