Canton Drama Presents Our Town This Weekend

Canton High Drama will perform "Our Town" this weekend.

This weekend the Canton High School Drama Club will present it's annual spring play.  This year's presentation is Thornton Wilder's Our Town.

In the fall, Canton High Drama presents its musical.  This year they performed Legally Blonde.  In the spring, it is often time for a more serious production.

Our Town is a three-act play, that tells the story fictional Grover's Corners New Hampshire. The play covers the years 1903-1913.  The lives of ordinary townspeople are depicted throughout the three acts and covers Daily Life, Love and Marriage and Death and Dying. The stage manager narrates throughout the play.

Our Town first debuted on Broadway in 1938 and won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.  It remains a popular show and is performed often.

Performances will be Friday March 14 and Saturday March 15 at 7:00 pm at the Canton High School auditorium.  Tickets are available at the door.  Admission is $10.00 for adults and $8.00 for students and seniors.

Kudos to the Canton Public Schools for continuing to support the performing arts.  Our Town is performed under the direction of Canton High School Drama Director, Stephanie Shapiro.
