Canton Man Charged with Third OUI

Canton man charged with 3rd-offense drunken driving
Ronald E. Austin, 53, of 237 Dedham St., Canton was arraigned in Stoughton Disrtrict Court on charges of drunken driving as a third offense, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and a marked lanes violation.
Judge Richard Savignano set bail at $500. The charges stem from a March 8 incident in Canton at 9:45 p.m. when police observed a Ford pickup truck being driven in an erratic manner on Washington Street. Police stopped the vehicle and adminstered Austin field sobriety tests, then they arrested him on suspicion of being intoxicated. A chemical breath test showed a blood-alcohol content of .21, which is above the state's legal limit of .08.
Austin plead not guilty and has an April 18 pretrial hearing.
Hyde Park man arraigned on OUI charge from an incident in Canton
Steven P. McGee, 59, of 40 Dana Ave., Hyde Park was arraigned in Stoughton District Court on charges of operating under the influence of alcohol and a marked lanes violation.

Judge Richard Savignano released McGee on personal recognizance. McGee is due back in court April 25 for a pretrial hearing. The charges stem from a March 3 incident in Canton when a person called police on a cell phone to report that a Lincoln car appeared to be operating in an erratic manner on Route 24 while approaching Route 93.
Police stopped the vehicle and arrested McGee on suspicion of being intoxicated. A chemical breath test showed his blood-alcohol level was .111 and .15.
