Canton Man Dies in Fall at Millbury Movie Theater

MILBURY, MA — A Canton man has died following a fall off the roof of a movie theater in Millbury.

John Folkes was doing HVAC work on the roof of the Blackstone Valley Cinema De Lux around midday Tuesday when he fell 30-35 feet, directly to the ground,according to the Millbury-Sutton Chronicle. Police say Folkes was handling a four-foot by four-foot aluminum heat exchanger alone at the time of the fall.

Folkes was transported to UMass Hospital in Worcester and was later pronounced dead.

There were no witnesses or surveillance footage of the fall, police said.

The death is under investigation but is not considered suspicious.
