Canton Man Killed By Pickup Truck

CANTON, MA — An elderly Canton man was fatally struck Saturday morning by a pickup truck driven by Stoughton man, police said.

State Police said the victim, 74-year-old Ralph Hawkins, was standing outside 147 High St. around 11:30 a.m. when a 2016 GMC Sierra pickup truck drove off the road and hit him. Hawkins was pronounced dead at Boston Medical Center.

The truck was driven by a 48-year-old Stoughton man, police said. He had not been charged as of Saturday evening. Police are investigating why the truck drove off the road.
