Case of Quincy woman charged with assault and battery proceeds to hearing

Kristin A. Miller, 41, of 1026 Furnace Brook Parkway, Quincy had a charge of assault and battery continued to Jan. 9 for a pretrial hearing in Stoughton District Court.

The charge stems from a Oct. 3 incident in Canton at 5:45 p.m. when police responded to a report of a fight in progress at Blue Hills Regional High School. Police said Miller allegedly confronted her daughter outside of the school about a 22-year-old man with whom her daugther was dating and that she did not agree with the relationship.

Witnesses said Miller allegedly pulled her daughter's hair, pushed her down onto the ground, and got on top of her and began punching her. Miller allegedly then kicked her daughter in the leg, which was bound in a cast after recent surgery.

OUI case to go to trial in January

Raymond M. Cattaneo, 31, of 5 Fuller Road, Apt. 2, Foxboro had a charge of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol continued to Jan. 13 for a first appearance at trial in Stoughton District Court. The charge stems from a Aug. 19 incident in Canton at 11:45 p.m. when state police manning a checkpoint observed a vehicle whose driver showed signs of impairment. Police said they could detect an odor of alcohol and administered field sobriety tests. Cattaneo was then arrested and charged.

Case of alleged drug dealer continued for hearing

Jonathan Lindor, 23, of 80 Walnut St., Apt. 108, Canton had charges of possession of a Class B drug with intent to distribute and no inspection sticker continued to Dec. 12 for a hearing for appointment of counsel in Stoughton District Court.

The charges stem from a Sept. 19 incident in Stoughton at 3:35 p.m. when narcotics officers on patrol were passed by a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle had a red rejection sticker. Police stopped the vehicle on Carey Drive. During an investigation police detected a "strong odor" of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Lindor then admitted to police that he possessed marijuana, according to court records.

Police searched the vehicle and found a large bag containing "budded" marijuana. "That is less than an ounce," Lindor allegedly told police. As police continued their search they found a pack of cigarettes, and inside the cellophane wrapper were 25 pills later identified to be 30mg Percocet tablets with a street value of $750. "Twenty-five pills is consistent with that of a distributor of narcotics," Officer Robert J. Kuhn said in the police incident report.

OUI case continued for hearing in January

Thomas M. McLellan, 32, of 29 Packard Road, Stoughton had charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle continued to Jan. 12 for a hearing in Stoughton District Court.

The charges stem from a Sept. 10, 2010 incident in Canton at 12:45 a.m. when police noticed a motor vehicle operating in an erratic  manner while exiting Canton Junction Sports Bar & Grille on Sherman Street. A witness said the vehicle was swerving heavily and nearly struck a fixed object.

Police stopped the vehicle and administered field sobriety tests, then arrested McLellan based on suspicion that he was driving while intoxicated. Police found a 12-ounce Budweiser Light can in the vehicle partly filled with beer. McLellan was later administered a chemical breath test. His blood alcohol level was .13,
according to the police incident report.

Hanover woman found not guilty of OUI

Rebecca Frank-Yeary, 31, of 254 Broadway, Hanover was found not guilty of second-offense operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and negligent operation of a motor vehicle in Quincy District Court. The charges stem from a Jan. 22 incident in Braintree when state police responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident on Route 3N near Exit 17 in Braintree.

Plymouth man facing drug charges to face trial in January

Evan A. Figueiredo, 24, of 7B Marc Drb. Apt. 2, Plymouth had charges of distributing a Class B substance and conspiracy to violate drug laws continued to Jan. 19 for a jury trial in Quincy District Court.

The charges stem from a Feb. 11, 2010 incident in the parking lot at the in Braintree at 8:19 p.m. when Figeuiredo was found by police to be in possession of a prescription bottle of Oxycodone and $550 in cash.

Braintree man fails to appear in court for arraignment on larceny charge

Steven M. Bonner, 40, of 143 Cleveland Ave., Braintree was to be arraigned on a charge of larceny over $250 in Quincy District Court but failed to show up. A judge then issued a default warrant. The charge stems from a Oct. 7 incident in Quincy. A woman called police saying that Bonner was to make a deposit of $500 for her at the Bank of America, 1400 Hancock St., but left with the money
instead, according to the police incident report.

Mattapan woman ditches arraignment on shoplifting, assault charges

Denisha Golden, 25, of 37A Rexford Road, Mattapan was to be arraigned on charges of shoplifting by concealing merchandise, assault with a dangerous weapon, and possession of chemical Mace without a firearms identification card but failed to appear in Quincy District Court. A judge then issued a warrant for her arrest.

The charges stem from a Oct. 9 incident in the parking lot at at the South Shore Plaza in Braintree at 4 p.m. Store detectives contacted police and said they were having trouble with two shoplifters who made fraudulent returns of a dress, several children's items, and then left the store. The shoplifters allegedly refused to comply when confronted by three store loss prevention officers.

As one officer tried to detain Golden she allegedly produced  a can of chemical defense spray and attempted to spray the officer in the face but it would not release any chemical, police said in the incident report. She was then detained.
