Canton Police Step Up Traffic Enforcement Across 12 Locations
Canton police are increasing traffic enforcement while reminding drivers about the rules of the road.
CANTON, MA — Canton police are increasing traffic enforcement while reminding drivers about the rules of the road.
Officers conducted 601 traffic stops in August, up 27 percent from 472 in August 2025, according to a department update released Tuesday. Moving violations increased from 96 to 118 while non-moving violations rose from 26 to 27.
Police made three arrests for driving under the influence in August, compared with two during the same month last year.

The department also reported 145 targeted enforcement actions across 12 locations between June 15 and July 17. More than half occurred on Randolph Street and Wentworth Road in response to traffic concerns.

- Randolph Street: 40
- Wentworth Road: 38
- Bolivar Street: 23
- Washington Street: 12
- Walpole Street: 9
- Dedham Street: 7
- Other locations: 16
The three busiest corridors, Randolph Street, Wentworth Road and Bolivar Street, accounted for 101 enforcement actions, or nearly 70 percent of the total.
