Canton Police Urging Residents to Be Cautious After Home Break-In on Green Street

A Canton teen scared away the would-be robber on Green Street.

An 18-year-old Canton resident scared off a would-be robber on Friday night thanks to her swift actions.

The teen screamed out to the person/persons that broke into her Green Street home around 11:00 p.m. on January 20, Canton Police said.

"The teen secured herself in a room and screamed to the person/s in the house that she was calling 911," Findlen said. "The parties took off."

Police believe the suspect or suspects may have thought the home was unoccupied, since all the lights were off and there were no cars in the driveway, the police lieutenant noted.

Canton Police are still searching for a suspect/suspects, she said.

Canton Police and their K-9, Bosco, searched the area for the suspect/suspects.

State Police helped the CPD secure the scene and any evidence that "may have been left behind to help us identify them," Findlen said.
