Canton Teen Picked To Sing National Anthem At Revs Game

Liana Lamparelli's voice stood out in the first round with her rendition of "Shallow" from the soundtrack of A Star is Born.

CANTON, MA — A 13-year-old Canton Girl won the opportunity to show New England soccer fans just how talented she is. Liana Lamparelli was selected a one of the three winners chosen by the New England Revolution to perform the national anthem at a Revs home match during the 2019 season.

While auditioning at the Landsdowne Pub in Boston, the judges said Lamparelli's voice stood out in the first round with her rendition of "Shallow" from the soundtrack of A Star is Born.

She advanced to the final round singing and stood out among the other 11 finalists with her rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner. Lamparelli was crowned a winner along with Shelby Moccio of Longmeadow, MA and Spice Girl-inspired girl group, Girls Nite Out.

The guest judges – New England Revolution forward, Teal Bunbury; New England Revolution Club Ambassador, Charlie Davies; Event Presentation Supervisor for Kraft Sports, Patrick Heenehan and Ashley Jordan, 2018 Boston Music Awards ‘Country Artist of the Year– were tasked with cutting down 11 finalists to three winners. Elizabeth Pehota, reporter for the Revs, served as emcee.
