Cold Chocolate to be featured at Open Book Coffeehouse
Bluegrass, folk and swing music at coffeehouse on Sat., Jan. 16

The Open Book Coffeehouse kicks off the new year on Saturday, January 16 with the band Cold Chocolate. This three-piece band plays a special blend of folk, swing and hard-driving bluegrass music. The coffeehouse is located at the Canton Public Library, 786 Washington Street, Canton. Doors open at 6:45 PM; music starts at 7:30 PM. Admission is $12 for the general public and $6 for students of any age.
Cold Chocolate is creating an exciting and unique new sound in the world of Americana: fusing bluegrass and roots with a dash of funk. With original tunes and technical prowess, this trio from Boston is rocking audiences with guitar, upright bass, percussion, and three-part harmony. The band features Ethan Robbins on guitar, Kirsten Lamb on upright bass, and Ariel Bernstein on percussion.
“The band’s approach is decidedly modern, with as much an influence from folk and swing as from hard driving bluegrass. Song topics also more reflect the urban environment in which they live than the country or rural themes that dominate so much bluegrass from southeastern artists,” wrote John Lawless of BluegrassToday.com on Cold Chocolate.
