Coyote Races Against Canton Police: Who are You Rooting For?
A Canton police officer had an unexpected companion while patrolling streets during Tuesday's travel ban.

With Tuesday’s blizzard coating the pavement with snow and removing cars and other signs of human life from the roads, it was almost as if the whole world belonged to wild animals.
At least, it may have felt that way for one coyote, who was caught racing along an almost empty road in Canton. His only companion was a Canton police officer out patrolling the roads.
Police said on their Facebook page the coyote was running with a cruiser on Indian Lane in Canton.

A woman who commented on the Canton Police Department’s photo mentioned Canton is no stranger to coyotes, saying there are many who roam around Raven Road.
We’re not sure who won the race, but know from another Facebook comment that the coyote was invited to a doggy play date at another Canton resident’s home later that day. Whether he took her up on the offer is unclear.
