K9's Bark Worse Than Alleged Granny Robber's Bite
Police say a suspect who robbed a 71-year-old woman in Canton was arrested as he made his way into Easton.

CANTON, MA – The suspect in a robbery of a 71-year-old woman in Canton was caught as he headed into Easton Friday, police said. Donald Gardner, 45, of East Bridgewater, allegedly had the victim's purse and its contents in his car.
Police found Gardner driving a Nissan Altima around 11:30 a.m. Friday morning and recognized it as a vehicle wanted in a robbery earlier that day in Canton. State troopers followed the vehicle into Easton and attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but Gardner refused to comply, police said.
Troopers pursued the vehicle onto Nutmeg Lane in Easton, where Gardner got out and ran into a nearby wooded area. K-9 units pursued him and one of the officers warned that her dog would be released if he did not surrender.
