Detroit Pride Cheerleaders to Make Appearance at Tailgate Charity Event

CANTON, MI- Detroit Lions fans bleed Honolulu blue but there are no bigger fans than the Detroit Pride Cheerleaders, a professional dance and cheer team established in 2010.  Recently the Detroit Pride Cheerleaders announced that they will be making an appearance at the upcoming Tailgate Mania:  Tailgate for Charity Grand Re-Opening at Indigo Salon, Spa, and Boutique on Sunday, November 18 from 1pm – 4pm.  The event combines the fun of a tailgate party, the luxury that Indigo offers, and the importance of giving to a worthwhile cause like First Step.  Established in 1978, First Step is a family abuse shelter that supports survivors of domestic and sexual violence by offering counseling, advocacy, temporary emergency housing, and much more.

Guests will enjoy the action of the Detroit Lions vs. Green Bay Packers game while enjoying munchies from Fat Chef in a Little Coat Catering, mini complimentary salon and spa services by Indigo, and prize drawings from 1pm – 3pm.  The Detroit Pride Cheerleaders will be making their appearance at the event from 1:30pm – 2:30pm on their way downtown to support the Detroit Lions.  Guests attending are encouraged to bring their cameras as there will be opportunities to take photos with the Detroit Pride Cheerleaders. The 20 member team attends numerous charitable organizations throughout the year, spreading the pride and spirit of Detroit sports fans.

“We are excited to participate by performing at the event and greeting people as they enjoy the game,” says Andrea Wilamowski, Director of Operations.  “In addition the girls will be selling the 2013 Detroit Pride Cheerleaders Swimsuit Calendar and giving partial proceeds back to First Step.”  People attending the event are also asked to bring supply items for the First Step shelter, an effort to replenish their shelves for the season.  Suggested items might be toilet paper, facial tissue, new or very gently used twin sheet sets, new pillows, garbage bags, cleaning supplies, coffee, and gift cards.    For each item donated a guest will receive one raffle ticket for prizes including an autographed Detroit Lions football, limited to 3 per person.
