CANTON, MI- An award-winning salon and spa will be hosting a grand re-opening after a complete renovation earlier this year, but this will be unlike any other event of its kind. The Tailgate Mania: Tailgate for Charity Grand Re-Opening at Indigo Salon, Spa, and Boutique on Sunday, November 18 from 1pm – 4pm will combine the celebration of a tailgate party, the luxury that Indigo offers on a daily basis and the kindness of giving to a worthwhile cause. Guests will hear a live broadcast of the Detroit Lions vs. Green Bay Packers game while enjoying munchies from Fat Chef in a Little Coat Catering, mini complimentary salon and spa services by Indigo, and prize drawings from 1pm – 3pm. This event will benefit First Step, a family abuse shelter that supports survivors of domestic and sexual violence by offering counseling, advocacy, temporary emergency housing, and much more.
“First Step is thrilled to have been selected as the charity for Indigo Salon, Spa, and Boutique's Tailgate for Charity Challenge,” says Theresa Bizoe, Associate Director at First Step. “Not only will this program increase awareness of First Step and our programs to support survivors of domestic and sexual violence, it will help us be able to keep our costs down so we can continue to offer all of our services at no charge for victims.” First Step was established in 1978 and serves survivors in Wayne County.
People attending the event are asked to bring supply items that the First Step shelter could use to replenish their shelves. Suggested items might be toilet paper, facial tissue, new or very gently used twin sheet sets, new pillows, garbage bags, cleaning supplies, coffee, and gift cards. For each item donated by a guest, they will receive one raffle ticket for prizes, limited to 3 per person. One of the biggest items up for grabs is an autographed football from the Detroit Lions.

This event is also a celebration of Indigo’s 7 year anniversary, with celebrations throughout the month of November.
