Gas Maintenance Work In Canton Starts: Odor Expected
The utility work requires small amounts of natural gas to be released. There may also be loud noises associated with the work.

CANTON, MA — Algonquin Gas started performing maintenance work on Monda. That work will extend throughout the week. Nearby residents may smell natural gas, according to a town press release.
The gas utility company will be working at its valve site near Saddleback Lane, close to the Randolph town line. The work requires small amounts of natural gas to be released. There may also be loud noises associated with the work.
Algonquin Gas personnel will be on-site during the entirety of the maintenance work and will ensure that the work is conducted in a safe manner, according to a statement from the Canton Board of Selectmen.

Local police and fire departments will be notified shortly before and after the controlled releases of natural gas.
