Canton Boy In Need of Help

After Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico, my husband signed up to help support reconstruction efforts in San Juan. On the same day, we learned that our son has a rare childhood disease and is in urgent need of surgery.

We have always been a family of givers. We started a PTO at Rodman Pre-K in Canton, to create inclusion between families of children with special needs and their community peers. We’ve led Coats for Kids drives in Canton, and do what we can to help others. But now we need to ask for help.

We set up a gofundme to help cover costs of Jacob’s wheelchair ramp, stairlift, and other therapies not covered under our insurance. Http://www.gofundme.com/teamapprille Jacob will be in a wheelchair for 3 months after surgery, and I’ll be managing him and his little brother by myself. Tom will remain in Puerto Rico for the next 6 months, as he is making a difference there and his income is helping to support our family.
