Hansen Students Help Injured Dog Heal from Broken Leg
A group of student from Canton recently met the dog they helped heal from a broken leg by raising more than $400 for his surgery.

Students at Hansen Elementary School in Canton this week took some time to meet a dog they helped heal from a broken leg.
The dog, named Hatchie, had been trampled by a horse last month, an incident that left the dog with a broken leg, according to a report on WHDH.
Because of high medical costs, Hatchie's owners were forced to put him up for adoption.

The students at Hansen helped raise the money for his surgery by building a donation box that raised more than $400, according to the report. PAWS New England and the Randolph Animal Hospital teamed up to help him out.
"They made posters, they really put it out there," Lauren Mahan, a fourth grade teacher at Hansen, told WHDH. "They talked to classes and let them know what's happening with the dog, why we need the money, what it's going for."
